SNAPLIGHT Lightsticks

The SNAPLIGHT® Lightstick is a one-time use light source commonly used by police and fire departments, emergency preparedness programs, schools, hotels ... any individual or organisation that needs a safe, practical light source for a variety of applications. They provide light for a wide variety of applications, from reading and moving about when power outages occur to visual identification when help is needed (e.g., a highway safety flare).

They have numerous advantages:

• They are completely non-flammable, and may be used in areas that contain combustible mixtures of gases or liquids, where ordinary sources of light (including flashlights) might pose an explosion or fire hazard.
• They are waterproof and may be used in the rain as well as underwater.
• They provide a 360° light source instead of a beam.
• They are lightweight and include a hook on the end so you can hang them.
• SNAPLIGHT® Lightsticks provide light through a chemical reaction which takes place when two solutions are allowed to mix. (Don't worry -- these Lightsticks are non-toxic.)

To prevent the reaction from occurring prematurely, one of the solutions is stored in a very thin capsule which is easily broken by flexing the tube. As long as the outer foil wrapper is not damaged, SNAPLIGHT® Lightsticks have a shelf life of one to four years, depending on the product.
